Suitable for beginners, though some experience with linocut is helpful — this series explores how to plan and create a reduction linocut print. (See photos for examples of this printmaking method.) Participants will create two reduction print projects during the 8 week session, with the option to work on one at a time or both simultaneously. The Exploring Printmaking series is ongoing. Participants may continue with this series in the winter session to develop and improve their technique over time.
Most tools and materials are supplied for use during the workshop. A list of a few additional items will be sent out by email ahead of the session — such as a small portfolio or portable expandable file to store your artwork and a small mixed media sketchbook for notes and rough sketches.
**Please note: We will be using water-based inks that clean up with soap and water and do not require solvents or chemicals.
Workshops are held in-person in Kemptville, Ontario, Canada.
